The spectacular performance attracted over 2,000 audiences, adding a vibrant touch to Hobart’s cultural scene and making a significant contribution to the cultural exchange and promotion of the Chinese community in Tasmania.

The event received strong support from the Consulate General of China in Melbourne, with Deputy Consul General Dongyuan Liu attending the performance and delivering a speech. Liu emphasized that the performance was of great cultural significance, as it was part of the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping’s visit to Tasmania. As China’s oldest and largest national theater, the China National Opera and Dance Drama Theater represents the highest standard of Chinese opera and cultural artistry. This event not only provided a memorable cultural experience for local audiences but also played a pivotal role in promoting cultural exchange and mutual understanding between China and Australia. Local government leaders, including Hobart’s Deputy Lord Mayor Zelinda Sherlock and Clarence City Council Mayor Brendan Blomeley and his wife, were also in attendance.

The performance was witnessed by a diverse group of guests and local attendees, including Emma Campbell, Division Head of Australian Antarctic Division, and representatives from the Tasmanian Chinese Community Council. Many expressed that the performance deepened their understanding and appreciation of Chinese opera, showcasing the beauty and significance of cultural diversity.

As a partner in this event, our company provided strong behind-the-scenes support, ensuring the smooth execution of this cultural exchange project. Our involvement not only allowed Hobart’s audiences to experience the artistic charm of traditional Chinese opera firsthand but also contributed to the broader goal of fostering deeper cultural exchanges between China and Australia.

The success of the "Golden Time: Chinese Classic Opera GALA" marks a significant step forward for our company in supporting the cultural development of the Tasmanian Chinese community. Moving forward, we will continue to play a bridging role, facilitating more cultural and artistic collaborations and contributing to the mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of both nations, while further enriching Tasmania’s cultural diversity and vibrancy.
